Norah Woodcock Portrait

I’m a postdoc in philosophy at Princeton University, where I received my PhD.

I’m interested in ancient Greek and Roman natural philosophy and metaphysics, how they are influenced by ancient medical science and agricultural practice, and their ethical and political entanglements. My current research focuses on Aristotle’s biology, especially his embryology; I have papers coming out on this topic in Phronesis and Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy. Right now I’m thinking about eggs in Aristotle’s embryology and ectogenesis more broadly.
